Frequently asked questions

1. What is TascU and how does it work?

TascU is a game-changing payroll and time tracking system that directly ties employee compensation to their real-time performance. Using a dynamically changing coefficients, TascU adjusts pay based on how efficiently tasks are completed, rewarding high-performing workers while ensuring employers only pay for actual productive work. This performance-driven approach not only boosts employee motivation but also optimizes budget management, making TascU the ideal tool for businesses looking to maximize productivity and control costs in a fair and scalable way.

2. How does TascU determine pay for workers?

TascU uses a system of corrected work hours, which adjusts the hours worked by each employee according to their dynamic performance coefficient. This coefficient is based on the worker’s efficiency and can go up or down depending on how well they perform. Workers who complete tasks faster with still good quality earn more for their time, while those who take longer may see their hours adjusted down.

3. What is a performance coefficient?

A performance coefficient is a dynamic value that reflects how efficiently a worker completes tasks. It adjusts up or down depending on the worker’s performance over time. If you’re a highly efficient worker, your coefficient will increase, meaning you get paid more for your hours. If your performance drops, your coefficient might decrease, lowering your earnings until performance improves.

4. How do employers benefit from TascU?

Employers benefit by only paying for real, productive work. TascU ensures that employers don’t overpay for inefficiencies, wasted hours, or underperformance. The system recalculates each worker’s pay based on their actual contributions to the project, helping businesses manage their budgets more effectively and ensuring that every euro spent is tied to measurable results.

5. How do workers benefit from TascU?

Workers benefit because they have more control over their earnings. If you work efficiently and deliver great results, your performance coefficient increases, allowing you to earn more for the same amount of time. It’s a system that rewards hard work and efficiency, giving workers the opportunity to increase their pay based on their individual performance.

6. What happens if a worker underperforms?

If a worker underperforms, their performance coefficient may decrease. This means that while they still get paid for their hours worked, their earnings might be lower than expected. This adjustment encourages workers to improve their efficiency, knowing that higher performance leads to better pay.

7. Can TascU save businesses money?

Yes! TascU helps businesses save money by only paying for productive work. If a worker’s performance doesn’t match expectations (e.g., their coefficient is below 1.0), any remaining project budget is saved or reallocated, preventing overspending on inefficiencies. TascU ensures that project costs are kept under control, making your payroll lean and efficient.

8. What is the dynamic coefficient system?

The dynamic coefficient system tracks a worker’s performance over time and adjusts their coefficient based on their consistency and results. If a worker consistently performs well, their coefficient increases, leading to higher pay. If their performance drops, the coefficient adjusts downwards. This system ensures that workers are constantly motivated to improve, and that their pay reflects their long-term performance.

9. What does the “Enable the reallocation of leftover task budget” setting do?

If only one worker is assigned to a project and their performance coefficient is lower than 1.0, any remaining budget that wasn’t used due to underperformance can be left as a budget leftover (if this setting is enabled). This means the employer doesn’t pay for unproductive time, saving money on the project/task. This budget leftover will be redistributed with highly performing workers – it can be considered as automatic bonus fund. What’s great about this system is that the employer doesn’t pay extra for bonuses – the bonus fund is drawn from low performers and given to high performers. This structure encourages workers to consistently give their best, as no one wants their salary redistributed to others!

Example, if the total project/task budget is 100€ and the worker’s coefficient is 0.80, the worker’s salary would be 80€ (100 x 0.80 = 80€). The remaining 20€ would be allocated to a bonus fund for redistribution among high-performing workers with a coefficient greater than 1.00.

10. Can TascU be used for different industries?

Absolutely! TascU can be used across various industries, including construction, logistics, office teams, and more. Any business that relies on project-based work or hourly wages can benefit from TascU’s performance-based pay system. It helps ensure fair compensation while maximizing productivity and efficiency in any work environment.

11. What are “corrected work hours”?

Corrected work hours are the final hours a worker is paid for after their actual hours worked are adjusted by their performance coefficient. For example, if you worked 40 hours but had a coefficient of 1.5 due to high performance, your corrected work hours would be 60. This means you would be paid for 60 hours of work, even though you only worked 40.

12. How does TascU handle project budgets?

TascU calculates the total project cost based on the corrected work hours of all employees. This ensures that the project stays within budget, and any unused funds (due to underperformance) can be saved or reallocated. This system guarantees that businesses don’t overspend on projects and that employees are paid fairly based on their actual contributions.

13. What makes TascU different from traditional payroll systems?

Traditional payroll systems usually pay employees based on the hours they work, regardless of how productive or efficient they are. TascU, on the other hand, ties pay directly to performance. This creates a fair and transparent system where high-performing workers earn more, and employers only pay for work that’s actually done. It’s a smarter, more efficient way to handle payroll.

14. How can TascU help improve workplace motivation?

TascU motivates workers by offering real financial incentives to improve their performance. The better you perform, the more you earn, giving workers clear reasons to stay focused and efficient. For employers, this means a more motivated and productive workforce, leading to better results and lower operational costs.

15. Is TascU easy to implement?

Yes! TascU is designed to be user-friendly and easily fits into your existing payroll and project management systems. Our system takes care of all the calculations and adjustments, ensuring that both employers and employees benefit without the hassle of complex manual processes.

16. Can TascU also be used for traditional hourly-based time tracking?

Yes! While our main focus is on using a performance-based system, our platform also supports logging work hours in the traditional way. Additionally, it’s possible to use both methods at same time, creating a hybrid approach.

17. Can TascU also be used for tracking entire project costs, such as materials, labor, etc.?

Currently, no. Our primary focus is on being a time-tracking payroll system, but we may add this functionality in the future.

18. Is TascU adjusting coefficients and salaries automatically?

Yes and no. The system allows the administrator (team lead or responsible person) to enable assessments for specific projects/tasks. However, the worker is unaware if the assessment is enabled. Once the project/task is completed, if the assessment was enabled, the dynamic coefficient can automatically change based on your settings.

19. How can workers use the system?

When workers log in, they can select from active projects/tasks and click the buttons to start or end their work. The system will automatically track their work hours. If they forget to log their time, they can also manually submit their work hours by providing the start and end times for a specific date.

20. Does the administrator need to approve/confirm the work hours logged by workers?

Yes, whether the worker logs their hours using the start/end buttons or submits them manually later, all work hours need to be approved by the responsible person. Before approving, they should also review the work to make sure everything’s done correctly to ensure quality.

21. Is it possible to set limits for dynamic coefficients?

Yes, the administrator can set maximum and minimum for the dynamic coefficients, ensuring coefficients do not drop below or exceed these limits.

22. Can coefficients be manually overridden by an administrator?

Yes, the administrator can override or adjust any coefficients set by the system.

23. What does the “For the assessment task, use automatic step-up/down values” setting do?

If the setting is enabled, the dynamic coefficient is not based on the worker’s performance but is instead adjusted by predefined increments (Coefficient Settings –> Auto Step Up/Auto Step Down). For example, if you set those steps to 0.01, and the worker’s coefficient is 0.80, it can automatically increase to 0.81 or decrease to 0.79 after each assessment.

24. What does “Works count for average” mean?

This setting determines how many of the worker’s most recent tasks are considered when calculating the average cumulative (dynamic) coefficient. For example, if you enter “1,” the cumulative (dynamic) coefficient will be based solely on the most recent task. If you enter “5,” the average of the last five dynamic coefficients will be used. This setting acts as a safeguard to prevent coefficients from dropping or rising too drastically based on a single task. For instance, if a worker occasionally underperforms on one task but performs well on others, a single failure won’t significantly impact the overall cumulative coefficient. How you set this parameter is up to you.
